Leaving a gift in memory

Donate in memory

Making an In-Memoriam donation is a special way to cherish the memory of a family member, friend or colleague.

Every In-Memoriam donation of R5000 or more is acknowledged with an individually engraved plaque in our beautiful Garden of Remembrance at the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital and in the Roll of Honour read at our annual Day of Remembrance service.

We will write to the family of the deceased, letting them know of your generous donation and send you a tax deductible receipt. Please be sure to include your details so we can contact you about your In-Memoriam gift.

Ways to create an In-Memoriam donation
  • Funeral collections: holding a collection at the funeral in lieu of flowers.
  • Pay tribute: Asking friends and family to donate to the Children’s Hospital Trust to pay tribute to your loved one.
  • Fundraising in memory of your loved one: You, your friends and family can jointly raise money in your loved one’s memory by holding a benefit fundraising event for the children at Red Cross Children’s Hospital.
How will the money I raise be used?

We are looking at providing list of equipment that will alleviate the stress and trauma of being in a children’s hospital.

Where can I send cheque or cash donations and to whom should a cheque be made out?

Cheques can be made out to the Children’s Hospital Trust and sent to The Children’s Hospital Trust, Suite 259 Postnet X18 Rondebosch 7701.

Cash donations can be deposited online or EFT payments: The Children’s Hospital Trust, Standard Bank, Rondebosch, Account number 071 443 126, Branch code 025 009. Please ask friends and family to include your loved one’s name.
