July is the third month of the Col’Cacchio pizzeria Celebrity Chef Series. Pizza lovers can look forward to two delicious creations from the gorgeous Charly’s Bakery gourmets. Their Dangwhoodle combines a tomato base, fior di latte mozzarella, roasted cherry tomatoes, Italian parmesan, oven roasted artichoke hearts, finished off with lashings of basil pesto and balsamic glaze (option to add Italian anchovy or salami). Finish off by indulging your sweet tooth with the dreamy Dinky Delight, a mini pizza treat smothered in Nutella, melted marshmallows and toasted hazelnuts.
Jacqui Biess and her three daughters Alexandra, Daniella and Roche are the creative goddesses behind the fantastical and crazy world of Charly’s Bakery. Located in a magnificent Victorian building in District 6, the bakery serves up the most colourful cakes and cupcakes in Cape Town which all taste as good as they look! Their international reality TV Show on DTSV’s Food Network, Charly’s Cake Angels, has taken these decadent creations to new heights and people from near and far flock to the shop to grab their own slice of the magic.
Thanks to the delicious creations from Liam Tomlin and David Grier, a fantastic 10 000 celebrity chef pizzas were sold over May and June – in turn an impressive R50 000 already raised for The Children’s Hospital Trust, fundraiser for the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital and Paediatric Healthcare in the Western Cape. R5 from the sale of every Celebrity Chef pizza is donated to the Trust.
