When a critically ill or injured child’s life hangs in the balance, doctors must make a quick and accurate diagnosis. This is where the Hospital’s Radiology Department plays a life-saving function. The Radiology Department, which includes Urodynamics and Nuclear Medicine, provides a service to all departments, clinics and wards in the Hospital 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
All three departments are in desperate need of a new facility to increase capacity. This will improve waiting times and comfort for patients and parents in waiting rooms, reduce wear and tear on valuable equipment and provide better working conditions. The Western Cape Government: Health will fund approximately 50% of the estimated total cost of R40million and the Children’s Hospital Trust needs to raise the remainder.
