Dr Riaad Moosa is one of South Africa’s most popular, award-winning and innovative comedians and also happens to be a qualified medical doctor. Riaad chose to ‘heal with laughter’ instead of medicine when he became one of Cape Town’s best comedic exports. He has selected the Children’s Hospital Trust as the beneficiary of his comedy show ‘Keeping you in Stitches 3’ at the Cape Town International Convention Centre on Saturday, 22 November at 20h00. Joining him on stage is Nik Rabinowitz, Kagiso Mokgadi, Schalk Bezuidenhout and Martin Evans.
100% of profits will be donated to the Trust and will benefit an inpatient paediatric rehabilitation programme at St Joseph’s for Chronically Ill Children, based in Montana. The St Joseph’s initiative is one of the Children’s Hospital Trust’s current priority fundraising programmes, requiring R3.9million over a three year period that commenced in August 2013. Many patients admitted to St Joseph’s for extensive therapy are referred from the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital and so the Trust’s support is aligned with its primary objective to improve and alleviate the burden on the Red Cross Children’s Hospital.
