National Wills Week is 12 – 16 September

We have a universal need to be remembered after passing on and having a Will empowers you to decide how your estate will be distributed in the interest of your loved ones.

During National Wills Week from 12 to 16 September, there are a number of attorneys’ practices in all nine provinces in South Africa participating in a national initiative to draft basic Wills at no cost. There are tax benefits when nominating a charitable organisation as a beneficiary in your Will. The Children’s Hospital Trust’s Circle of Life legacy programme encourages people to consider leaving a gift in their Will for the Children’s Hospital Trust to benefit future generations of sick or injured children in need of specialist medical care at the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital.

If you would like to get in touch with any of the participating attorneys to have your Will drafted free of charge please click here to find an attorney in your area or contact Liz at and call +27 21 686 7860 to find out more about the Children’s Hospital Trust’s Circle of Life Legacy Programme.

The Children’s Hospital Trust is registered as a PBO in terms of section 30 of the Income Tax Act (PBO No 930 004 493) and therefore any legacy gifts made through the Trust can be deducted from the value of the Estate when determining estate duty.
