At the Children’s Hospital Trust we have recognised that there are a large number of South Africans living abroad who want to feel a connection with ‘home’ and help ‘give something back’.
Others such as businesses, schools and faith groups want to help make the lives of children in Africa better.
Supporting the Children’s Hospital Trust could not be simpler – we are helping very sick children from marginalised communities in South Africa.
Monies donated today will help a sick child tomorrow.
Funds raised go directly to our priority projects and programmes. Our aim is to help fund the amazing Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital and support paediatric healthcare in South Africa.
All donations made to the Children’s Hospital Trust are exempt from donations tax and qualify the donor for deductions from taxable income in accordance with the income tax act 58 of 1962.
If you give more than R100 per annum, you will receive a Section 18A tax certificate enabling you to claim a deduction from personal or corporate taxable income.
Tax certificates will be issued at the end of the financial year unless requested earlier.
Donor deductibility applies to cash donations, bequests and donations in kind.
When you submit the receipt with your annual income tax return, you can get up to a maximum
deduction of 10% of your annual taxable income or R100 000 ( whichever is greater). To read more about PBO and Section 18A criteria, log on to the SARS website.
The Children’s Hospital Trust fundraises for the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital of which the majority (96%-98%) of the 260 000 patient visits per year are from children that are black as per the Codes of Good Practice.
Donors will be given commensurate recognition for their contribution to this project according to our donor recognition policy.
This may include naming rights or part naming rights to the facility, mention on donor boards and in our annual report.
